Please send glass slides, special studies (if performed), a “draft” pathology report (so location and size can be determined), pertinent clinical, imaging, radiology and/or operative findings. Unless crucial, blocks should not be sent. If additional studies are required for diagnosis, you will be contacted first to confirm and/or perform the requested studies. Virtual, digital interpretations will be provided if a link to the virtual slides site is furnished. Diagnoses are typically communicated by telephone and followed the same day with an emailed PDF or a faxed report, per your preference (email is desirable, as the attachment can be easily added to an EMR without artifacts). If special studies are required, they may add an additional day or two to the reporting time. Original materials from North American sources are returned by trackable USPS, unless a mailer and shipping label are included in the submission. All communications are encrypted and HIPAA compliant.
